I’m a self-taught mixed media artist, originally from London and now based in Wiltshire. Having lived in several countries across Europe and different parts of the UK, I’ve long been influenced by a sense of place, changing landscapes and the memories we carry with us.

For the past 15 years, I’ve been developing an intuitive, highly layered approach to painting, working with acrylics, inks, pencils, collage and papers I create by hand.

I rarely know exactly where a painting will lead when I begin. Instead, I respond to what is happening on the surface, allowing the work to evolve through layers of colour, texture and mark-making.

ABOUT SANDI

My background in science feeds a natural curiosity and love of experimentation in the studio. I enjoy testing materials and techniques and find the meeting point between the analytical and the intuitive particularly fascinating.

My paintings explore emotions, memories and experiences that can be difficult to put into words. Landscapes, botanical forms and fragments of the natural world often emerge, while visible layers, imperfections and earlier marks become part of the finished work.

Although each painting begins somewhere personal, I want to leave space for the viewer to find their own meaning and connection.

Each original is created in my Wiltshire studio, with works held in private collections in the UK and internationally.
